The problem with telling people what you do, where you do it and why, is that then they want to know more….

Last year for Valentine’s Day I was gifted a bundle of Chocolate Labrador puppy-ness. He is gorgeous, mad as a hatter, and we named him Lenny. It was a pseudo present as he does in fact reside with my Other Half. However, the thought counted and the dog was bought.

This year, professional circumstances having changed, I bought myself the 35th birthday present of a rescue Whippet and she came home with me. After much deliberating we decided upon a suitable new name. She is Maggie (as she must have been quite the Iron Lady to have survived her past abuses) and she is mine.

Those of you who know me will know I am not so much with the technology. Largely because it scares me, in the same way maths did at school. It all seems a bit big and scary and meant for a select few (boys). I can do it when I set my mind to it, I just choose to have a nervous breakdown at the thought of it, before taking a deep breath and jumping in. Then I discover it isn’t as complicated as I first thought and actually I can be quite good at it. But it takes a while.

Since launching this site and outing myself as a ‘Wannabe Writer’ I have been forced to answer the question “What do you write about..?” countless times.
In truth I don’t really have an answer and I usually say something along the lines of “Oh, mainly food and things”, since most people know someone who fancies themselves as a bit of a food critic after watching countless episodes of Masterchef and Saturday Morning Kitchen.
